Why choose KnitPro Zing (20 cm, 5 pcs.)?
  • Five Aluminum DPNs: Each pack holds five 20 cm double-pointed needles in lightweight anodized aluminum, one metallic color per size with the size laser-printed, from 2 mm for fine socks up to 5 mm for mittens and hat crowns.
  • Stays Put, Still Glides: The anodized surface is grippier than chrome-plated needles, which matters on DPNs because the resting needles are less likely to slide out of the work. Sock knitters single out the sharp, tapered points.
  • Socks, Mittens, Sleeves: The 20 cm length holds enough stitches for adult sleeves, hat crowns and mittens as well as sock legs and feet, so one size covers most small-circumference knitting in the round.
Description

KnitPro Zing Double Pointed Needles – Colorful Precision in Your Hands

KnitPro Zing double pointed needles combine modern aesthetics with high-grade performance. Made for knitting small circumferences in the round – socks, mittens, gloves, hats and sleeves – each set holds five 20 cm needles finished in a vibrant, lustrous metallic shade that makes them as beautiful to look at as they are to use.

💡 Pro Tip: Divide your stitches over four needles and knit with the fifth – this keeps the tension even and the work comfortable in your hands. The lightweight aluminum of the Zing series ensures that your hands remain fatigue-free even during long, meditative knitting sessions.

Why are Zing needles a favorite among crafters?

  • Superior Glide: Manufactured from high-grade lightweight aluminum, these needles provide a smooth, snag-free surface for all yarn types.
  • Laser-Printed Sizes: Never worry about fading numbers. The sizes are laser-etched on every needle, ensuring permanent visibility and easy identification.
  • Flawless Tapers: The shiny silver tips are perfectly tapered, allowing you to pick up stitches with precision, whether you are working with chunky wool or fine lace.
  • Built to Last: The high-quality metal construction ensures these crafting tools remain durable and warp-resistant for decades of use.

TIPS & TRICKS

Pro Tip: To avoid ladders where one needle meets the next, pull the first two stitches on each new needle snug, or shift a stitch or two onto the neighboring needle every few rounds so the gap never sits in the same column.

About Product

What size KnitPro Zing double pointed needles do I need for socks?

For fingering-weight sock yarn, 2 to 2.75 mm is the usual range, and 2.5 mm is a common starting point. Thicker sport or DK sock yarns move up to 3–3.5 mm. Knit a small swatch in the round and match your pattern's gauge; Himalaya Socks, for example, is labeled for 2–2.75 mm needles.

Are 20 cm DPNs too long for socks?

No, 20 cm (8 in) is a standard sock DPN length; it simply leaves more needle free at each end than a 15 cm set. Knitters with small hands, or anyone working children's socks and thumbs, often prefer the shorter length found in KnitPro Mindful Collection Double Pointed Needles (15 cm / 20 cm).

KnitPro Zing vs Karbonz DPNs: which should I choose?

Choose Zing for a light, rigid aluminum needle with one color per size and sizes up to 5 mm for mittens and hats. Choose KnitPro Karbonz Double Pointed Knitting Needles x5 for fine sock gauges: carbon fiber with brass-coated tips, slightly flexible, warmer in the hand, and with quarter sizes such as 2.25 and 2.75 mm.
