Use the small end of the 2–4 mm range on the label, usually 2–2.5 mm, so the plush fabric is tight enough to hide the stuffing. For hats, blankets and soft clothes, move up to 3–4 mm for a lighter, drapier fabric. Make a small test circle first and stretch it gently: if gaps show, go down half a size.

Softy Baby or Softy Plus: which is better for a baby blanket?

For a full-size blanket, Alize Softy Plus works up faster: it holds 120 m per 100 g and is roughly twice as thick. Softy Baby, at 115 m per 50 g, makes a finer, lighter blanket and is better for small pieces, colourwork and borders. Both are 100% polyester plush certified to OEKO-TEX Standard 100.

Does Alize Softy Baby shed?
