Is YarnArt Flowers Merino 100% merino wool?

No. Despite the name, Flowers Merino is 75% acrylic and 25% wool. The acrylic keeps it light, soft and easy to care for, while the wool adds warmth for cool-weather shawls and cardigans. If you want pure merino, YarnArt Imperial Merino is 100% extra fine merino wool in worsted weight.

How many cakes of Flowers Merino for a sweater?

Plan on 2–3 cakes for a women's medium sweater. A DK-weight adult pullover typically uses 1,100–1,450 m, and each 225 g cake holds 590 m (1,300 ÷ 590 ≈ 2.2). With a gradient yarn, decide early which cake goes to which part, such as body and sleeves, so the colour changes look planned.

Flowers Merino vs Flowers Alpaca – what's the difference?

Flowers Merino is thicker and smoother; Flowers Alpaca is finer and fluffier. Merino blends 75% acrylic with 25% wool at 590 m per 225 g on 4.5 mm needles, while YarnArt Flowers Alpaca blends 80% acrylic with 20% alpaca at 940 m per 250 g on 3.5 mm, with a visible halo. Both are winter gradient cakes.

Can I crochet a blanket with YarnArt Flowers Merino?
