Is YarnArt Linen Soft stiff like pure linen?

No. Linen Soft is only 30% linen; the other 70% is cotton and viscose, so it feels soft from the first stitch and drapes instead of standing stiff. You still get linen's cool, dry feel on hot days. Each 100 g ball holds 272 m of sport-weight yarn, worked on 4 mm needles or hook.

Can you crochet with YarnArt Linen Soft?

Yes. On the 4 mm hook from the label it suits summer tops, mesh cardigans and shawls. The thick-and-thin strand already adds texture, so simple stitches such as double crochet, granny stitch or open mesh show it best, while busy textured patterns can get lost. Keep tension relaxed so the fabric stays airy and drapes.

How many balls of Linen Soft for a cardigan?

Plan on about 4–5 balls. A light summer cardigan in sport-weight yarn typically takes 900–1,200 m for a women's medium, and each 100 g ball of Linen Soft holds 272 m. Long sleeves, a longer body or larger sizes need the fifth ball or a sixth; a short-sleeved tee needs less.

What's the difference between Linen Soft and Linen Soft Colors?

Same yarn, different dye. Both are 36% viscose, 34% cotton and 30% linen with 272 m per 100 g. Linen Soft comes in solid shades, while YarnArt Linen Soft Colors is multicoloured and shifts colour as you work. Use the solids for bands, cuffs and borders around a Colors body.
